Tools you can use without a Safety Checkout

Maker Works has a full wood, metal, electronics, craft, and jewelry shop in our 14,000 sq ft location on the south side of Ann Arbor. We require safety checkout classes for tools we consider dangerous or expensive when something goes wrong, but there are hundreds of easily accessible tools that don’t require checkout for members!

  • In addition to the tools below, the room has a number of chairs and tables, open WiFi, beverages and snacks (honor bar), and a basset hound or two. Staff working the front desk are available to handle general questions. You’ll also find our 3D Printers in this room, though they do require a safety checkout.
