Pewter Sandcasting for Events

Pewter sandcasting is a fun, educational activity suitable for a wide range of makers including adults.  For special events we can hep create custom models of logos or other fun shapes.  (Makers could make their own models ahead of time, too.)  Makers press and pound sand into frames around the model to create the mold, then staff pours molten pewter (lead-free, 98% tin) and, after cooling, remove the cast item and clean it up.  We can add ball-chains to make key tags or necklaces.

While we regularly run this workshop at our makerspace, we’re happy to bring this event to you! Note that requests may require a 4+ week lead time.
