Got a lamp that is shakey or won’t light up? Don’t toss it—fix it! Join us for this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop where you’ll learn the basics of lamp repair and leave empowered to handle simple fixes on your own.
No experience? No problem. We’ll walk you through the parts of a basic lamp, how to be safe, and how to address common issues like faulty switches, frayed cords, and loose parts. You’ll learn how to safely disassemble a lamp safely, use basic tools, replace common components, and how to source specialty parts and tools.
You’ll have access to all the tools, materials, and guidance to leave with a functional lamp (or next steps if specialty parts are needed), and the knowledge to repair lamps for yourself and your friends!
What kind of lamp can you bring? Traditional floor, table, and desk lamps are ideal (see pictures above). However, if you’re having connectivity issues with your smart lamp, bring it to our next Fix-It-Friday!
