Join Dan Romanchik KB6NU at Maker Works for his one-day Technician Class amateur radio license class.

This one-day class is a fast, confidence-building way to learn what's needed to pass the FCC exam and start exploring amateur radio. Perfect for emergency preparedness, community service, or a fun new hobby, the class teaches the basics of radio operation and rules while preparing you to join a global community of radio enthusiasts—all in just one day.

  1. When we get your registration, we will put you on another e-mail list and send you more details a week or two before the class.

  2. After you register, download Dan’s study guide. The PDF version is free. Before the class, read through the study guide a few times, then take some online practice tests. If you don’t pre-study, I can guarantee that you’ll have a hard time passing the test.

  3. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask: cwgeek@kb6nu.com

  4. Can’t attend this class? Subscribe to Dan’s mailing list for announcements of upcoming classes.

High School and College students: Enter the code “STUDENTRADIO” to zero out the cost — only do so if you know you can attend the class.

After the workshop, you are welcome to take the Exam at 3:30 PM. There is an additional $15 exam fee that can be paid directly to Volunteer Examiners on the day of the class.

Finally, be sure to check out the ARROW Communication Association, the oldest amateur radio (“ham”) club in Washtenaw County, Michigan that meets at Maker Works!
