Join Maker Works for a hands-on pine car building workshop! Where attendees can use Maker Works’ tools and space to execute their designs.

In this one-hour session, participants will sketch the placement of weights and outline their car's shape before working with Maker Works staff and volunteers to safely use the tools. Builders will use a drill press to create weight holes and either a scroll saw or bandsaw to cut their car's shape.

Sanding blocks will be available for final refinements.

This workshop focuses on providing guidance and access to tools for the execution of your design. Maker Works will supply all necessary tools, including worktables, rulers, pencils, and sanding blocks.

Finishing touches, such as painting, can be completed at home. Perfect for derby participants of all experience levels, this session helps bring your design to life with precision and ease!

After the workshop, you are welcome to join Maker Works for a free tour of the rest of the shop - A 14,000 sq ft community workshop featuring wood, metal, electronics, textiles, and jewelry tools!
