The Upholstery Business

One of Kymm’s upholstery classes happening in the Conference Room.

Kymm Clark, owner of LullCo Studio

A while back, Kymm bumped into one of our Maker Works staff at a monthly Creative Washtenaw meet-up. She took a tour and saw the possibilities. With years of upholstery experience under her belt, she’d been wanting to expand her upholstery business but didn’t have the space. Luckily for her, Maker Works had just what she needed.

She talked with staff and found out she could rent out the conference room. Ever since, she’s been running her upholstery classes at Maker Works and has taught hundreds of people who’d never before picked up a staple gun. Some of those people went on to make their own upholstery businesses!

… and now Marie’s chair speaks for itself

What’s next for Kymm? With Maker Works providing the space and support she needed, she’s now dreaming bigger than ever. She’s partnered with HouseN2Home to share a larger space while she raises funds to expand into her own! Check out her GoFundMe to help, or visit LullCo.co to sign up for a class!
