Outreach Crew!
Maker Works Community Workshops has capacity to support many more makers. We need help introducing the shop to more people, please take a look at the suggestions below on how to help. But don’t hesitate to let us know if there’s something we’re missing, particularly if you’re a professional marketer that wants to help : ) frontdesk@maker-works.com / 734-222-4911
1. Social media
Share what you’re working on and tag us, or share what we’re doing with your circle! If you’re making stuff, or know of someone local making things please tag & share. We would love to reciprocate:
Instagram: makerworks_a2
Facebook: makerworx
2. schedule a tour
Whether it’s for a friend, company, school, non-profit, or otherwise, we love running tours of the shop. It’s a great introduction to our space, and we’ll gladly run a tour anytime we’re open -- but we can be more accommodating if it’s scheduled!
3. Start a conversation
Please help introduce us to individuals or organizations that would appreciate learning about us, examples include:
BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and Fem Presenting individuals and communities looking for a shop!
Reciprocal relationships with local hardware stores
Schools looking for STEAM activities (Great Maker Race, Learn to Solder and more)
Companies looking for an amazing staff perk or to expand their capabilities.
Community groups in need of access to shop tools
Researchers in need of prototyping facilities
Maker/Craft/Geek Groups that would enjoy a tour
Schools looking to expand their capabilities or provide their students/faculty additional workspace.
Donors that want to support a community makerspace : )
Consider sharing our webpage or social media presence with the person or group you know, or invite them for a tour! Finally, if you’d like us to reach out to them please fill out this form with who we should contact.
