Classes Overview
Learn to use the tools of the shops in our checkout classes or gain experience in a skill development or make & take class. Our classes are welcoming to beginners and masters alike, and membership is not required! Looking to give someone the gift of classes? Check our Gifts page!
SAFETY CHECKOUT AND SKILL DEV CLASSES
Learn to sew on domestic and industrial sewing machines, cut and engrave with lasers, create objects with 3D printers, or embroider with a 16 needle computer-controlled embroidery machine.
Learn MIG & TIG welding, plasma cutting, drill press, bandsaw, milling (including CNC!), and turning metal on a lathe.
Learn to safely use saws, drill presses, routers (including CNC!), planers, jointers, sanders, and the wood lathe.
Create your own printed circuit boards with a CNC engraver, learn to use Arduino and Raspberry Pi to control your projects, or just come in and work on any electronics project your heart desires. We have oscilloscopes, a logic analyzer, and lots of organized bits and bobs!
Explore making your own rings, bracelets, necklaces, and more. Learn how to cast a metal object from a wax model. Use an oxyacetylene torch, mill small objects with our 4-axis CNC milling machine, and work on your own projects in the studio!
Learn to use the software that you'll need to create projects on the computer-controlled tools in the shop. We have classes in 3D and 2D design packages, as well as the CAM software which creates the code which runs the tool to your specifications.
Other Classes!
Take a class in which you get to go from nothing to something you take home! Wooden birdhouses, metal address signs, etched drinking glasses, and more! Great for couples, groups, and families!
These are multi-session activities that combine both a tool checkout, skill-development, and projects in an area of the shop.
