Keyboardio: An Open-Hardware Computer Keyboard

On Tuesday, June 23rd, the creators of Keyboardio visited the shop.

For those of you who missed it, Keyboardio is an open-hardware computer keyboard that is unlike any you’ve tried before. The base is milled from maple, and the split keyboard features wonderfully tactile mechanical keyswitches, custom-sculpted keycaps, and is backlit with fully programmable LEDs!

The couple behind Keyboardio, Jesse Vincent and Kaia Dekker, are currently doing a coast-to-coast roadshow across the US and Canada. They stopped by Maker Works and shared their story, and also brought Keyboardio Model 01s for attendees to try.
