They say that good ideas often start with a light bulb going off. In the case of Chris Lomont and Gene Foulk’s Hypnocube, that light bulb just happened to be a literal one. Er, 64 of them, to be exact.
The 4Cube HypnoCube, in production since 2011, is a 4x4x4 LED cube containing 64 lights that each are capable of displaying over 4,000 colors. And the follow up to the successful HypnoCube, the HypnoSquare, is an 8×8 square again with 64 lights, and is packaged in a frame.
So, what’s next for the successful duo? Well, let’s just say that with their most recent project, they’re thinking outside the box.
HypnoLights are full-color, beautiful animated string lights.
Just plug them in, and you’ll have a string of lights playing a never-repeating sequence of colors. Or, if random isn’t so much your thing, select one of 19 original themes, including individual colors, holidays (including Christmas, Halloween, and 4th of July), and “nightlight”.
To offset the cost of producing the first batch of Hypnolights, Lomont and Foulk have created a Kickstarter campaign. Watch the video below to learn more about it, and click here to visit their Kickstarter page!
