Registration

Ok, sharpen your pencils and get ready to take some notes! UPDATE: Registration opens May 1 and remains open throughout the entire 9-weeks. Though you will want to register ahead of time in order to reserve your seat for each session. You are encouraged to participate in the entire series since each session is meant to build onto the previous one or register and take only the sessions that you require! Seats are limited to only 30 attendees per session. Register by calling 734-222-4911.

The series is June 7 through August 2, and meets every Thursday evening from around 6:30pm- 9:30pm. Each session opens with refreshments starting at 6:30pm each Thursday. As an attendee, you are encouraged to arrive before 7pm to meet and mingle with other attendees. The session program begins promptly at 7pm and adjourns at 9pm. From 9pm-9:30pm there is informal networking and socializing with the panelists. If you are coming straight from work or from far away and can't get here until 7pm, please let us know ahead of time.

Another great asset of this series beyond the fabulous panelists is the Program Workbook. It is part of your pathway to success. It not only contains the bios + contact information of each panelist but also includes lined pages for your notes and folder pages for handouts and other completed worksheets. Yep, we are serious when we say that you are here to gain more knowledge! The Program Workbook will allow you to keep all of your on-the-spot ideas in one place: So when you sit down the following day or weekend, you won't be scrounging around to find misplaced 'aha!' moments.

UPDATE: Mini-Grants have a new deadline! Sunday, June 3! Notification will be by Tuesday, June 5.
Everyone has a different scenario. If you want to participate in the entire series but cannot afford to, you are in luck! There are 5 seats per session reserved for mini-grant recipients. The mini-grant application process is straight forward. Please submit via email to membership@maker-works.com by Sunday, June 3.
*1-page personal statement: Describe the handmade items or products you wish to sell or currently sell, your studio practice and what makes your items special or different, how you think this series will benefit your future or current business practices, and why you are seeking a mini-grant.
*6 images of your handmade items or products: 72 DPI and around 8" on the longest side (example: 8"x3" or 8"x6") If you plan on selling vintage items or non-handmade items such as fabrics, please include images of these items to offer the jury a clear idea. Please include details shots if you believe your products require it.
*Brief bio about yourself: A short resume narrative.
*Application is attached at the bottom and should be downloaded, fill out and emailed back.
